Compression socks are incredibly beneficial for a wide range of people, particularly those who experience prolonged periods of sitting or standing. We highly recommend them for:

You do not need a prescription to get fitted with Fitwell Medical. However, to ensure your insurance covers the cost, we strongly advise checking your plan's specific reimbursement requirements prior to your appointment. If you have any underlying medical conditions or need assistance, please consult your physician or reach out to us directly.

We process all reorders personally to maintain strict accuracy and clinical quality. If your certified measurements are on file, a new appointment is not required unless you have noticed a change in your sizing. The difference comes down to medical efficacy. Medical-grade compression garments must adhere to strict performance standards that basic, private-label socks do not. You are investing in advanced materials, specialized weaving techniques, and rigorous testing by top-tier manufacturers to ensure your garments actively and effectively support your health

Maintaining strict hygiene and quality standards is our top priority. Because compression hosiery is a medical-grade product, all general sales are final.

We do offer exchanges within 30 days for unopened products or manufacturer defects. (General wear and tear or fabric snags are not considered defects—to protect your garments, please always use the provided application gloves and read the care instructions!) If you experience a sizing discrepancy, we allow the return of one opened package to ensure we get your fit exactly right. Please note that return shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer.

While many insurance companies offer standard direct billing, most do not allow it for medical devices like compression garments. However, some insurance plans allow for an "Assignment of Benefits." With your authorization, this allows Fitwell Medical to submit the claim on your behalf so your insurance reimburses our clinic directly. If your plan is eligible, this means you do not have to pay out-of-pocket when your product is dispensed. If Assignment of Benefits is not available under your plan, upfront payment will be required. To ensure you have coverage before purchasing, we can easily provide a detailed quote for you to submit to your insurance for prior approval.

Fitwell Medical accepts and processes claims for a majority of insurance providers. We do not, however, participate in or process claims for the Green Shield Canada network and its affiliated partners. Certain insurance companies mandate direct provider registration to authorize claim submissions. To avoid denied claims and to ensure our office can successfully process your claim, all plan members are strongly encouraged to independently confirm their benefit coverage and provider network requirements prior to ordering.
